The Deer Population

There are tons and tons of deer on the island. They are protected and cannot be hunted. They walk all over the golf course and in the yards. Of course they will eat anything, including the landscaping. They will often walk right up to you to be fed, although you are not supposed to feed them.

Of course, we don't listen and feed them anyway. Peanuts are the best. Many of the deer are skiddish and of course it's much more rare to see a buck rather than a doe. The boys named this little guy peanut because he hung around the wedding all night. They boys took photos of him at dark as well.

This scene is really rare. A wild male animal allowing Little Brat to pet his back like a pet goat. He wasn't the least bit afraid of us and follows you all over the yard. We went on a lengthy golf cart ride around the island to see what we could see and he followed us all the way back to the cart.

It's very interesting to see nature up close.
Enjoy!
